Last week, the Senate Small Business Committee held a hearing on expanding opportunities for small businesses through the tax code, with John Lettieri from the Economic Innovation Group as a witness. He discussed opportunity zones and all Senators highlighted the need to create metrics to determine their effectiveness. 

Other witnesses included Caroline Bruckner of the Kogod Tax Policy Center, John Arsenmeyer of Small Business Majority, and Christel Slaughter on behalf of the U.S. Chamber Small Business Council.
