Today in Washington will resume when the Senate returns from recess.

Appropriations Watch – The Senate passed a “minibus” appropriations bill that contains Interior-Environment, Transportation-HUD, Financial Services and Agriculture-FDA FY19 funding measures by a vote of 92-6. The bill will now go to conference to resolve the differences between the House and Senate versions.

NDAA Watch – The Senate voted 87-10 to pass the FY19 National Defense Authorization Act. The bill now goes to the President’s desk for his signature.

Recess – The House is adjourned for recess until September 5. The Senate is in recess for the remainder of this week and next week and will return on August 15.
