Senate Focused on Flood Insurance – The Senate is working to meet a midnight deadline to prevent the expiration of the federal flood insurance program’s authority to issue new policies. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has scheduled a 12:15 p.m. vote today on a measure that would extend the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) through November 30. The House passed the extension last week.
CFPB Nominee – The Senate Banking Committee will vote on Thursday on President Donald Trump’s nominee, Kathy Kraninger, to lead the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Kraninger is currently an Associate Director at the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB).
