Senate Confirms Administrator Maria Contreras-Sweet to Lead the SBA

March 27, 2014 – Today, the Senate voted to confirm Maria Contreras-Sweet to serve as Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).

AEO is excited about Administrator Contreras-Sweet’s confirmation and we look forward to partnering with her to give a voice to microbusiness owners on America’s Main Streets and cross streets.

Administrator Contreras-Sweet’s extensive background and experience advocating on behalf of the needs of entrepreneurs and microbusinesses, spanning 25 years in both the public and private sectors, will serve her well in her new position at the SBA.

AEO was a strong supporter of Administrator Contreras-Sweets’ nomination, urging Senate leaders earlier this month to quickly confirm her.

We welcome Administrator Contreras-Sweet and look forward to discovering new opportunities for collaborating with the SBA to ensure underserved entrepreneurs can access the capital and tools they need to succeed.
