On Tuesday, May 17th, I attended a terrific, eye-opening, workshop on “Exploring the Intersection between Financial Capability and Domestic Violence.” I want to first acknowledge that domestic violence can happen to any individual, man or woman, but for the purposes of this “Women’s Wednesday” blog, I will focus exclusively on the experience of women survivors of domestic abuse.

Women’s Wednesday: Increasing the Odds of Success for Women Entrepreneurs

Last week I had the pleasure of attending the AEO national conference “Main Street Matters” with over 400 other attendees.  Among the many fantastic workshops led by accomplished professionals within the field of microenterprise, there was a round table discussion titled: “Increasing the Odds of Success for Women Entrepreneurs.”  While there were various topics covered during the discussion, there was definitely a consensus among the speakers regarding what should be the major take-away:a need to cultivate ecosystems of support to help nurture and advise women small business owners.
